THE PRACTICE
Our Practice
Nagomi Japanese Medicine was established by Minoru Ito, a Japanese Musculoskeletal specialist. Minoru qualified as a Judo Therapist (Bonestter) and Physical/Sport Rehabilitation Therapist in Japan where he is also licensed. This qualification is roughly equivalent to a Physiotherapist or Osteopath in Australia but with the addition of specialist knowledge in Traditional Japanese methods of treating sports and soft tissue injuries and non-surgical mending of broken bones.
Minoru brings to Australia broad experience in treating all types of musculoskeletal issues. Prior to coming to Australia, Minoru worked for 10 years in an Orthopaedic clinic in Japan as a Physical Rehabilitation Therapist/Bonesetter and Shiatsu Therapist.
He has been fortunate to worked with many skilled practitioners and have supportive mentors over his careers. He is highly trained in Shiatsu and comes from a family lineage of shiatsu specialists, as well as being a qualified Judo therapist (licensed by the Japanese Ministry of Health) in Japan.
He is specialised in neck, shoulder and lower back problems from stiff neck and back to acute injuries, enabling him to identify root causes of the problems, and use the most appropriate therapy for you. His caring, comprehensive and attentive nature has achieved positive, permanent results, where nothing else has worked.
Since moving to Australia, Minoru has furthered his studies and qualified as a Homeopath. He treats a wide range of illnesses including allergies, asthma, eczema, hay fever, cold and flu, headaches, gastric problems, stress, respiratory problems and many more. He is an accredited remedial massage therapist with Australian Natural Therapists Association Limited (ANTA).
